migraines

Migraines, especially chronic migraines, are one of the more common highly debilitating conditions impacting people today.

Migraines are not simply headaches, which tend to affect the face and neck, rather they affect the brain directly. They are generally also more painful on one side of the head than the other and come with other symptoms such as nausea, dizziness, sensitivity to light and sound, and fatigue. Some people may also experience sensory disturbances, including blurred vision and partial blindness.

Chronic migraines are defined as experiencing migraines on 15 days or more in a month for a duration of at least 4 hours a day. This can have a dramatic, detrimental impact on quality of life and often requires medical intervention to manage.

There are some options to help manage migraines, like oral medications, however, in cases where these solutions are not sufficiently ameliorative, medical botox has proven to be a safe, effective treatment for reducing the frequency and severity of migraines in adults with chronic migraines.
